We are seeking an experienced Ultrasound Technologist with strong Breast Imaging experience to perform a variety of specialized diagnostic ultrasound procedures in a fast-paced Breast Imaging environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in breast ultrasound techniques image optimization patient care and assisting with breast interventional procedures.
This role requires a highly skilled technologist capable of producing high-quality diagnostic images while delivering compassionate patient-centered care.
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations according to departmental protocols and established imaging standards
- Conduct breast ultrasound studies including routine and complex breast imaging procedures
- Assist physicians with:
- Ultrasound-guided breast biopsies
- Aspirations
- Breast interventional procedures
- Perform portable ultrasound examinations as needed
- Prepare and position patients appropriately for diagnostic procedures
- Evaluate image quality and optimize imaging parameters for accurate diagnostic interpretation
- Utilize Doppler techniques to assess vascularity when required
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment and related imaging systems
- Adjust imaging settings including:
- Gain
- Depth
- Focus
- Time-gain compensation (TGC)
- Troubleshoot minor equipment issues when necessary
- Archive and retrieve images using PACS systems
- Maintain records and documentation within EPIC and related computer systems
- Explain procedures and provide patient education
- Deliver compassionate patient care using A.I.D.E.T. communication standards
- Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures
- Adapt care based on patient age condition and communication needs
- Participate in quality assurance and quality control initiatives
- Follow infection control safety and emergency protocols
- Maintain CEU requirements and ongoing professional competency
- Ensure compliance with organizational standards and departmental procedures
- Graduate of an approved Ultrasound Program
- Minimum 2 years of Allied Health/College training
- Minimum 2 years of ultrasound experience required
- Breast Imaging experience required
- Experience with:
- Breast diagnostics
- Breast biopsies
- Breast screening procedures
- Proficient in breast ultrasound imaging techniques
- Strong knowledge of:
- Cross-sectional anatomy and physiology
- Ultrasound equipment operation
- PACS systems
- EPIC documentation
- Ability to produce high-quality diagnostic images
- Knowledge of sterile technique and patient safety practices
- BLS Certification required
- RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) required
- ARDMS Certification required
- 5 years of Breast Imaging ultrasound experience preferred
