Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Ultrasound Technologist with experience across multiple imaging specialties including vascular ultrasound general ultrasound womens health imaging and echocardiography. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive diagnostic imaging services in a fast-paced acute care setting while maintaining exceptional patient care image quality and clinical accuracy.
Responsibilities
Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations according to physician orders and departmental protocols.
Conduct vascular studies and evaluate blood flow within arteries and veins.
Perform general ultrasound examinations including abdominal and small-parts imaging.
Perform obstetric (OB) fetal transvaginal and breast ultrasound procedures.
Perform adult echocardiograms contrast echocardiography and stress echocardiography studies.
Prepare patients for imaging procedures and explain examination processes.
Ensure high-quality diagnostic images and accurate documentation.
Collaborate with physicians and healthcare providers regarding imaging findings.
Operate and maintain ultrasound and echocardiography equipment according to manufacturer and facility guidelines.
Follow infection prevention patient safety and quality assurance protocols.
Participate in on-call coverage including evenings weekends and holidays as required.
Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation.
Required Qualifications
Education
Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiovascular Technology program required.
Licensure & Certifications
Current ARDMS RDCS RCS or equivalent registry credentials required based on specialty areas.
Experience in all of the following specialties required:
General Ultrasound
Vascular Ultrasound
Fetal Ultrasound
Obstetric (OB) Ultrasound
Breast Ultrasound
Transvaginal Ultrasound
Adult Echocardiography
Contrast Echocardiography
Stress Echocardiography (Treadmill)
Acute care or hospital-based experience preferred.
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of diagnostic sonography principles and imaging techniques.
Ability to perform and interpret multiple ultrasound specialty examinations.
Excellent patient assessment and communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and image quality standards.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities.
Strong organizational critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
Commitment to patient safety and quality care.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative healthcare environment.
Additional Information
On-call coverage required:
MondayFriday: 5:30 PM 8:00 AM
Weekends: 24-hour on-call coverage
Holiday on-call coverage required
Weekend call responsibilities required.
Floating between units not required.
Typical patient ratio: 1:8.
48-hour schedules are not approved.
Short-term acute care setting.
