Job Summary

Responsible for providing quality diagnostic ultrasound procedures and the care needed to ensure patient comfort and safety.

Duties & Responsibilities

Independently perform ultrasound examinations exercising judgment to recognizeand record pathologists and abnormalities necessary to provide a diagnosis.
Review patients medical records and clinical information to evaluates patientscondition and to determine the diagnostic information the physician is seeking.
Summarize and document findings for radiologists and communicate with referring physicians radiologists nursing staff and other departments about the examination.

Maintain current knowledge of specialty by attending seminars in-services and reading journals.

Assist specialty physicians in performing invasive procedures (e.g. amniocentesis and biopsies) by providing ultrasound guidance for needle entrance.

Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

A graduate from an accredited Ultrasound program required. A minimum of six months job-related experience or equivalent is required. CPR Certification required. RDMS required. RVT required (Certified Ultrasonographer position only).
