The Engineering Applications Department (EAD) is seekingaUI/UXDesigner &Developertocreateworld-class user experience for complex space systems. We developcutting-edgevisualization toolsfrom sophisticated web and desktop applicationstoimmersive experiencesthat transform complex engineering data into intuitive interfaces for critical decision-making in civil commercial and national security space programs.

ISCD staffleveragecutting-edgeinformation system technologiesincluding elasticcomputeclouds containerization microservices real-time operating systems and advanced visualization frameworkscombined withexpertisein software architecture AI and cybersecurity to deliver high-performance systems to our Intelligence Community DoD and civilian customers.

You willwork closely with product experience designers and other engineerstotranslatecustomer needs into innovative design solutions.

Work Model-

This is a full-time position based inChantilly VA which requires 100% onsite work.

  • Build responsive accessible high-performance front-end interfaces with exceptional attention to detail

  • Develop and implementintuitiveuserexperiencesforadvanced visualizationproductsto enhance data analysis and decision-making processes

  • Partnerwith developers engineers scientists and stakeholders to align vision and deliver cohesive solutions

  • Foster innovation by staying current with emerging technologies and industry best practices

What You Need to be Successful Member of Technical Staff System Software Engineering

MinimumRequirementsfor the Member of Technical Staff System Software Engineering:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer ScienceHuman-Computer Interaction (HCI) Design or related STEM discipline

  • At least2 years of experience infrontenddevelopment

  • Proficiencyin TypeScript and modernweb frontendframeworks and librariessuch as React Angular or Vue

  • Demonstratedabilityinuser research usability testing rapid prototyping and accessibility

  • Provenability to present complex concepts to diverse audiences from engineers to executives

  • This position requires ability to obtain andmaintaina security clearance which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship isto obtain a security clearance.

In addition to the above theminimumRequirements for the Senior Member of Technical Staff SystemSoftware Engineering include:

  • 4 years of experiencefrontend development

  • Proven experienceinarchitecting visualizationsoftwaresolutions

  • Leading team discussions and code collaboration to promote continuous progress

  • Participating in client industry and end-user discussions to help provide technical viewpoint on the application

  • Experience leading an Agile development team using Atlassian tools (e.g. JIRA ConfluenceBitBucket SourceTree etc.)

How You Can Stand Out

It would be impressive if youhaveone or more of these:

  • Masters or Ph.D. inHCI Computer Science Design or Human Factors

  • Experience with rapid prototyping tools and methodologies

  • Proficiencywith Blender Maya 3DS Max or equivalent modeling tools

  • Excellent interpersonal skills including a demonstrated ability toestablishand maintain effective working relationships with all levels of customers and staff

  • Experience building andmaintaininglarge-scale design systems

  • Previousexperience working with aerospace or defense industry clients

  • Current DoD Secret or TS/SCI clearance

The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education experience knowledge and skills.
