Founded in 1961 Dignity Health - Arroyo Grande Community Hospital is a 65-bed acute care nonprofit hospital located in Arroyo Grande California. Serving over 90000 patients annually the hospital offers a full complement of services including emergency care and orthopedics. It is a Joint Commission-certified Primary Stroke Center and has the only inpatient Acute Rehabilitation Center between Salinas and Santa Barbara.
As our Unit Clerk/Nurses Aide you will provide essential support to the nursing team ensuring continuous vigilant patient monitoring and fostering collaborative relationships for quality healthcare services.
Every day you will proficiently use the H.I.S. computer system serve as a unit representative greet patients maintain census logs and support team members in the care of adult patients. You will also actively build collaborative relationships across disciplines.
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate a strong commitment to patient care meticulous attention to detail for monitoring and proficiency in healthcare information systems. You will take responsibility for your competency continuously evaluate performance and stay informed of developments in nursing and your clinical specialty.
- Demonstrates basic patient-care skills including but not limited to patient hygiene (bathing grooming oral and perineal care backrubs etc.)
- Measures vital signs weights and I&O accurately.
- Safely ambulates lifts moves and transports patients as delegated.
- Positions patients and performs range of motion exercises.
- Reports observations regarding patient status to the RN.
- Demonstrates proper aseptic technique
- Acute care experience within the last two years. or Nurse assistants/unit clerks without acute care experience within the last two years will be considered on an individualbasis
- Completion of unit clerk class or Equivalent work experience
- Certified Nursing Assistant: CA CNA
- Basic Life Support - CPR BLS within 30 Days
