Job Summary

Position Summary
The Certified Trainer is responsible for building production capability protecting quality and ensuring training is delivered consistently to approved standards. The role trains new and existing operators and supports sustainment efforts though robust understanding and application of the Avon Technologies business system The Strengthen System. The Certified Trainer will be certified in Training Within Industry Job Instruction methodology and will apply this methodology to the Gemba.
Key Responsibilities
Training Delivery & Operator Capability
- Train new and existing operators to understand and follow Work Instructions Standard Work Strengthen System principles quality standards workmanship expectations safety requirements and other production needs.
- Use TWI Job Instruction methods on the Gemba including breaking down the job demonstrating the work explaining key points and reasons why observing practice correcting gaps and confirming understanding.
- Support operators who are struggling with quality takt time documentation or standard work adherence through hands-on coaching structured retraining and clear feedback.
- Utilise the training Dojo and production floor to provide practical safe and repeatable learning experiences before operators are released to work independently.
- Certification Records & Competency Governance
- Attend and obtain Training Within Industry JI certification.
- Decide operator competency against approved station role and training requirements using observation validation questions quality performance and documented evidence.
- Complete review and submit training records accurately so training status is visible current and audit-ready.
- Maintain and support role-specific skills matrices qualification criteria and certification pathways in partnership with the production teams.
Training Effectiveness Audits & Continuous Improvement
- Identify repeated training quality or adherence issues and recommend areas for improvement activity or retraining focus.
- Act as an ambassador for Strengthen System principles operator engagement and daily discipline on the Gemba.
Required Minimum Qualifications/Competencies
- Demonstrated mastery of approved Work Instructions Standard Work quality standards workmanship expectations safety requirements and documentation standards within assigned production areas.
- Proven ability to train coach observe correct and validate operators in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication listening documentation and feedback skills with the patience and approachability required to support different learning styles.
- Ability to maintain accurate training records support skills matrices and keep documentation audit-ready.
- Reliable engaged safety-focused and able to work independently while escalating concerns through the correct operational channels.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience
- Experience as a Certified Trainer Flex Production Technician Advanced Operator Technician or similar role requiring deep process knowledge and peer training capability.
- Training Within Industry Job Instruction certification or active progression toward certification.
- Exposure to Lean manufacturing Strengthen System tools visual management Workplace Sustainment Program activity or Kaizen improvement methods.
Work Environment
- This role requires routine presence on the production floor for training delivery observations audits and validation.
- May be required to lift materials stand for extended periods or operate within high-paced manufacturing areas.

The anticipated salary for candidates who will work in Cleveland OH is $24.00 per hour. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job type and years of experience within the industry education etc.
