Traveling Construction Superintendent

Position Summary

The Traveling Construction Superintendent I is responsible for overseeing field operations across multiple construction projects throughout the United States ensuring work is completed safely efficiently and in alignment with project specifications. This role leads field crews coordinates with Project Managers and maintains accountability for schedule quality and jobsite execution. The position requires extensive travel to project sites nationwide and the ability to manage field operations across diverse geographic locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily field operations across 13 active construction projects.

  • Supervise and coordinate multiple crews ensuring productivity and efficient workforce allocation.

  • Conduct daily jobsite inspections to ensure compliance with project plans specifications and company standards.

  • Review and interpret blueprints drawings and scopes of work to ensure accurate field execution.

  • Monitor project progress and adjust field operations to maintain schedule and budget targets.

  • Identify and resolve jobsite challenges proactively to avoid delays or quality issues.

  • Coordinate with Project Managers to align field operations with overall project strategy.

  • Schedule and manage subcontractors vendors and material deliveries to maintain workflow.

  • Lead daily crew meetings including work planning assignments and safety discussions.

  • Conduct regular safety meetings and enforce OSHA and company safety standards.

  • Ensure all crew members are properly trained and utilizing PPE at all times.

  • Train mentor and develop crew members in construction techniques and best practices.

  • Track crew hours production and progress ensuring accurate reporting and documentation.

  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of job sites ensuring a professional work environment.

  • Monitor and manage equipment usage maintenance and jobsite logistics.

  • Conduct punch walks and final inspections to ensure work meets quality standards.

  • Support client communication in the field and address concerns as needed.

  • Travel to project locations throughout the United States as required to support field operations and project execution.

Qualifications

  • 58 years of construction field experience.

  • Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role required.

  • Strong understanding of construction methods materials and jobsite operations.

  • Ability to read and interpret plans specifications and construction documents.

  • Strong leadership communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

  • Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.

  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 75% of the time to project sites nationwide.

  • Ability to adapt to changing project locations schedules and field conditions.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.

  • Ability to stand walk bend kneel and navigate active construction sites for extended periods.

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

  • Ability to climb stairs ladders and work around active equipment safely.

  • Ability to travel by vehicle and commercial airline as required.

Work Environment

This role is primarily field-based and performed on active construction job sites throughout the United States. Approximately 75% travel is required with assignments ranging from short-term to extended durations based on project needs. Work schedules may vary based on project demands and may include early mornings extended hours overnight travel and occasional weekend work. When not traveling the Superintendent may support project planning coordination and operational activities from a DCPS office or approved remote location. Home based will be Denver CO. This person can be expected to travel 75% of the time

Compensation

$100000 $125000 annually

This is a bonus eligible position.

Final compensation will be based on experience qualifications and market conditions.

Additional Information

This is an exempt position and is not eligible for overtime.
