Transporter Radiology

Shift: Part-time 2nd shift: Monday - Thursday 6:30 pm - 10:00 pm for 32 hours per pay period. Alternating weekends 7:30 am -4:00 pm.

The Transporter is responsible for the safe timely and respectful movement of patients equipment and essential items throughout the hospital. This role ensures accurate communication with clinical teams maintains a clean and safe environment and supports patient comfort during transport. The Transporter also adheres to hospital protocols safety standards and documentation procedures contributing to smooth hospital operations and a positive patient experience.

Administrative and Customer Support

• Transports patients safely to and from the Radiology department while maintaining high standard of care. Uses two patient identifiers when getting and returning patients.
• Safely operates and maintains wheelchairs carts Hoyer lift and slide devices.
• Answers incoming calls taking adequate messages.
• Faxes or mails reports as requested.
• Burns CDs or pushes images electronically as requested. Appropriately documents Releases of Information.
• Digitizes films as needed and loads outside images into the PACS system.
• Assists Imaging Technologists with obtaining checklists and screening forms.
• Assists Imaging Technologists with patient throughput.

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED

Experience:

• Six months previous medical-related experience
