Transportation Project Manager
Location: Fort Myers FL (Tampa-based or remote start may be considered for the right candidate)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Travel: Local and regional travel as needed

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Transportation Project Manager to help lead and grow a transportation engineering practice in Southwest Florida. This is an outstanding opportunity for a Professional Engineer who enjoys both technical project delivery and helping build a growing team and market presence.
This role is ideal for someone who wants more than just managing projects. Youll have the opportunity to help shape the future of a growing transportation group by leading roadway design projects developing client relationships mentoring engineers and contributing to long-term strategic growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead transportation and roadway engineering projects from planning through construction
  • Manage project scopes schedules budgets and deliverables
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and project resources
  • Oversee roadway design and transportation engineering efforts
  • Mentor junior engineers and support technical development
  • Assist with proposals business development and client relationship management
  • Participate in strategic planning to support continued growth in the Florida market
  • Ensure projects meet quality standards regulatory requirements and client expectations
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • 5 years of transportation or roadway engineering experience
  • Experience managing engineering projects and client relationships
  • Strong understanding of roadway design principles
  • Excellent communication leadership and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across multidisciplinary teams
Preferred Qualifications
  • Florida DOT (FDOT) transportation project experience
  • Experience with roadway design software such as MicroStation OpenRoads or AutoCAD
  • Previous experience leading project teams
  • Business development or client management experience
  • Experience helping grow a department office or engineering practice
  • Existing relationships within the Florida transportation market are a plus
