• Design and buildscalable engineering solutionsthat useAI and automationto improve software delivery testing and platform reliability.
• Developproduction-grade frameworks services and utilitiesin Python and related technologies to support intelligent validation automation and quality controls.
• Partner with engineering teams to embedquality engineering and validation practicesearly in the development lifecycle and driveshift-left transformation.
• ApplyAI/ML techniquesto improve test generation coverage optimization anomaly detection defect identification and engineering insight.
• Build and enhancedata and platform validation capabilitiesacross ETL pipelines APIs microservices and streaming architecture.
• Integrate automation and intelligent quality checks intoCI/CD pipelinesto support continuous testing quality gates and release confidence.
• Help modernize legacy QA approaches intodeveloper-aligned quality engineering frameworksand scalable engineering practices.
• Collaborate acrossTechnology Risk Compliance Operations and Emerging Techto drive consistent engineering and quality outcomes.
• Provide clear reporting and insights on engineering quality risks and release readiness leveraging AI where appropriate.

What You Need to Have:

• 8 years of experience insoftware engineering data platforms ETL or large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong hands-on development experience particularly inPython with the ability to build reusable frameworks services and automation solutions.
• Experience applyingAI/ML or intelligent automationin engineering workflows especially in validation testing optimization or anomaly detection.
• Strong knowledge ofdata systems including ETL batch/streaming pipelines APIs and microservices.
• Advanced experience withSQLand relational databases such asOracle and PostgreSQL.
• Experience with modern automation and quality tools includingPlaywright and/or Selenium with a strong understanding of how quality engineering supports software delivery.
• Familiarity withCI/CD DevOps and continuous quality engineeringpractices.
• Demonstrated ability to influence teams to adoptqualityfirst and shiftleft practicesacross design development and deployment.
• Familiarity withself-healing automationintelligent orchestration or AI-assisted validation frameworks.

What Would Make You Stand Out:

• Strong understanding of howintelligent test orchestrationsupports DevOps and continuous quality gates.
• Familiarity withAI or MLbased approachesfor data quality assurance including model validation drift detection or intelligent checks.
• Ability to act as a thought partner on howAI can continuously improve engineering and quality outcomesacross platforms.
• Awareness ofAI governance explainability and responsible AI principles particularly in regulated or risksensitive environments.
• Financial Services Background Experience with analytical workflows financial products or regulatory processes

FOR CHICAGO ROLES ONLY: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $130000 and $150000 per year. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education training experience past performance and other job-related factors. Base pay is one part of Fitchs total compensation package which depending on the position may also include commission earnings discretionary bonuses long-term incentives and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
