Training Specialist

• Confers with management supervisors and employees to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training and to better understand changes in policies procedures regulations business initiatives and technologies
• Develops internal training programs and determines appropriate instructional methods teaching aids and media for effective transfer of knowledge and skills
• Conducts training sessions covering specified areas such as standardized work practices technical competencies and interpersonal skills
• Assists in developing training initiatives
• Collaborates with all departments for technical training programs and proficiency testing
• Tests employees to measure progress evaluate effectiveness and basic skills
• Reports on progress of employees under guidance during training periods
• Provides guidance and resources for plant wide training programs
• Upholds and promotes Nascotes 14 Lean Principles through daily activities.
• Assists Training Coordinator with sourcing and coordinating outside training resources
• Coordinates Human Resource projects as assigned
• Maintains strict confidentiality in all employee related matters and information
• Maintains an acceptable attendance record
• Maintains a clean and safe work area
• Participates in department meetings
• Completes documentation of activities as required
• Submits cost reductions and innovation ideas
• Performs other tasks as assigned
• 2-3 years experience in a manufacturing setting preferred
• Previous training experience or six month related experience or equivalent combination of developing and presenting training programs.
• Ability to interpret technical data processes operating instructions and procedures.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to develop and proof training materials
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees
• Strong problem solving and computer skills
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Required: BA/BS degree in a Human Resources/Training Field
