Job Summary

SUMMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Atalco Gramercy LLC is seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Training Specialist to develop deliver and sustain high-quality training programs across three distinct areas: Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) training and Maintenance workforce training. This role plays a critical part in ensuring a safe compliant and skilled operations environment.

The Specialist will lead the development and ongoing support of Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) training reinforcing safe behaviors coaching techniques and cultural expectations that promote a proactive safety addition this role will support and enhance Maintenance training programs for hourly employees focusing on reliability equipment care and technical skill development to strengthen maintenance performance and operational readiness.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Behavior Based Safety (BBS)

Facilitate Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) training sessions for employees supervisors and leadership teams.

Teach core BBS concepts including observation techniques positive reinforcement hazard recognition and effective safety communication.

Conduct field-based behavioral observations and coach employees on safe work practices.

Develop training materials such as presentations handouts videos and scenario-based exercises.

Support implementation and continuous improvement of the companys BBS program.

Analyze observation data to identify trends at-risk behaviors and opportunities for targeted interventions.

Provide feedback to management on program performance and recommend improvements.

Collaborate with safety teams to integrate BBS principles into existing safety systems and initiatives.

Promote a culture of accountability open communication and peer-to-peer engagement.

Maintain accurate training records and ensure compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.

Training & Support

Assess the training needs of the Reliability Maintenance department through surveys interviews and consultations with hourly employees and leaders across the site.

Design develop and deliver training programs and workshops (both in-person and online) to onboard new users and train existing employees focusing on General Repairers (GRs) Electrical and Instrumentation (EI) Technicians and Machinist in the Reliability Maintenance department.

Prepare and maintain training materials including presentations user guides course content curriculums and training modules in the Learning Management System (LMS).

Oversee the development and administration of tests and evaluations to employees to measure the success of the transfer of knowledge from the training modules.

Track and report on training completion rates and effectiveness.

Maintain accurate and concise documentation of all existing and newly developed Maintenance Training Program activities within the Maintenance Training Qualification Policy.

Conduct audits of training documentation and progress.

Participate in the selection and evaluation of potential Reliability Maintenance employees.

Proactively seek out improvement opportunities and/or training gaps associated with adding new equipment and/or employee turnover.

Develop and maintain relationships with local high schools and technical schools to build a technical pipeline of skilled students interested in joining the Atalco team.

Training Coordination & Administration

Coordinate training schedules sessions logistics and participant enrollment across departments.

Maintain training calendars and ensure alignment with operational priorities and site availability.

Maintain accurate complete and auditable training records for operational leadership safety and compliance training.

Ensure training documentation (attendance completion acknowledgements) is consistently captured and stored according to governance standards.

Support internal and external audits by providing timely access to training and certification records.

Support day-to-day administration of the Learning Management System (LMS) and related learning tools

Assist with user onboarding access management and troubleshooting in coordination with IT and HR.

Ensure training data entered into learning systems is accurate timely and aligned to governance standards.

Metrics Reporting & Continuous Improvement

Generate routine training reports (completion compliance participation) for leadership and functional partners.

Identify data quality issues trends and coordination gaps and escalate for resolution.

Support continuous improvement efforts by providing operational insights into training execution and adoption.

SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS

PRE-EMPLOYMENT:

Must successfully complete Atalco Gramercys required drug screening and physical examination.

TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) required prior to offer acceptance; MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) training to be completed upon hire.

ON THE JOB:

Computer: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook) Internet Explorer and other general-purpose and industry-specific software specifically Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Human Resources Integrated Systems (HRIS) such as Paylocity and EHS Insights.

Organization: Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Must be proactive highly organized and capable of managing multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.

Stakeholder Engagement: Demonstrated ability to identify key stakeholders understand their needs and expectations communicate effectively and maintain strong trust-based relationships that support successful project outcomes and organizational goals.

Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deliver presentations and facilitate discussions with diverse audiences including leadership technical teams and non-technical staff.

Teamwork: Collaborative team player who actively shares knowledge and supports others.

Expertise: Strong knowledge of MSHA regulations hazard recognition and risk management principles.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelors degree in Human Resources Education Business Health & Safety Instructional Design Communications preferred or PTEC/Associates Degree in related field

Relevant 5 years experience in Human Resources Learning & Development Talent Management

Experience in industrial manufacturing energy or safety-critical environments

Must be eligible to work in the US

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read analyze and interpret information. Ability to write reports and basics business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups managers clients customers and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals.
