Job Description:

The Technical College System of Georgias (TCSG) Office of Quick Start is seeking a Training Specialist for Automation Advanced Manufacturing Training. Georgia Quick Start is the nations premier workforce training program providing customized training solutions to support new and expanding industries across the state. The Office of Quick Start partners with world-class manufacturers in aerospace automotive food processing life sciences advanced manufacturing and other high-growth sectors to develop highly skilled workforces that drive economic success. As a Training Specialist you will deliver world-class manufacturing technology training in highly interactive classroom and lab environments while developing workforce solutions for new and expanding manufacturers across Georgia.

This role offers the opportunity to leverage your industrial automation expertise while helping build the next generation of Georgias advanced manufacturing workforce. You will also play a key role in developing and enhancing curriculum to meet evolving client needs.

RESPONSBILITIES

• Provides classroom and hands-on lab instruction.

• Develops and updates Industry 4.0 training curricula in accordance with Quick Start standards and client needs.

• Designs develops and maintains Industry 4.0 training systems and hands-on learning environments.

• Performs periodic on-site client training need assessments.

• Works with other instructors and leadership to ensure consistent methods and standards are maintained.

• Training areas include:
  • Mechanical electrical and electronic troubleshooting
  • Automation and PLC control systems including Allen-Bradley/Rockwell and Siemens platforms
  • HMI systems industrial networking robotics mechatronics and other Industry 4.0 technologies

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires travel throughout Georgia to support client training initiatives and conduct workforce assessments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Associates degree in a related field and Three (3) years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education training and experience. Experience in advanced manufacturing environments with expertise in equipment operation maintenance troubleshooting automation systems PLC controls mechatronics robotics or related technologies is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors degree in engineering or a related field.

• Additional experience in industrial automation controls engineering industrial maintenance manufacturing training or technical instruction.

• Experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Siemens or similar industrial automation platforms.

• Prior experience teaching coaching mentoring or delivering technical training.
• Lean Manufacturing knowledge/experience.
• Strong computer communication and organizational skills are required.
