The Georgia Department of Public Health Health Protection Emergency Preparedness & Response is seeking a Regional Training Coordinator-Region 2 for the Office of EMS/Trauma.
Under limited to broad supervision the Regional Training Coordinator provides direct oversight of specific goals and objectives for the implementation and evaluation of initial and continuing emergency medical services education programs in a designated region and performs essential functions in the designations of EMS education programs.
Functions include but are not limited to:
Ensures regulatory compliance in the overall operations monitoring and evaluation of EMS education programs instructors and students for adherence to DPH rules and regulations EMS Procedures and guidelines.
Serve as the licensing officer for Instructor License and Critical Care Paramedic endorsements.
Provide initial license support to new providers instructors and training programs to guide them through the licensure process.
Performs initial inspection of education facilities for designation.
Performs annual inspections and re-designations of all EMS education programs in the Region.
Review course curriculum to ensure alignment with state requirements and national best practices for Initial Education courses at the EMR EMT AEMT Paramedic and Critical Care Paramedic levels
Review course curriculum to ensure alignment with state requirements and national best practices for Continuing Education courses at the EMR EMT AEMT Paramedic and Critical Care Paramedic levels
Performs investigations related to EMS education programs and instructors in the Region.
Assist in auditing of initial and continuing education courses to ensure compliance with rules/regulations
Assist in the audit of medics and instructors who are selected for audit each renewal cycle.
Assist in the collection and preparation of data for the monthly and semi-annual GDAC report and the EMS Annual Report.
Plan and coordinate at least one regional training symposium annually including developing lecture topics scheduling presenters and managing event logistics.
Collaborates with healthcare entities within the Region including the healthcare coalition(s) hospitals and other partners.
Research existing programs both in-state and out-of-state for best practices specific to provider education.
Recruit community subject matter experts to assist in the delivery of the regional/community EMS education programs.
Assist with community needs assessments and development of regional/community EMS education programs that are tailored to community needs as requested.
Create continuing education to be placed on the Departments learning management system.
Ensure the efficient operation of TRAIN Ga to provide high-quality free continuing education for EMS providers and instructors.
Write revise and maintain validation rules to ensure data accuracy and program compliance.
Possess knowledge of critical care paramedicine concepts and the ability to integrate advanced topics into regional training initiatives.
Serves as the Departments representative on the RTAC EMS-C Regional Council Education Committee and other state committees as needed.
Serves as a liaison between the Department and the EMS Regional Council as needed.
Assists in the states emergency preparedness and response to natural and manmade disasters and public health emergencies.
Communicates and collaborates with the Regional EMS Director to promote healthy initiatives for the region.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants who in addition to meeting the above requirements possess the following:
Currently licensed as a Georgia Paramedic and as a Georgia EMS Instructor/Coordinator;
Experience as a Lead Instructor Course Coordinator or Program Director of an initial EMS education program;
Knowledge with the Department of Public Health Rules and Regulations for Emergency Medical Servicesand National EMS Education Standards;
Knowledge of EMS licensure process to provide initial license support to new providers instructors and training programs to guide them through the licensure process.
Community Paramedicine/Mobile Integrated Healthcare experience.
5 years documented experience at an upper management level with a licensed Emergency Medical Service agency or designated education program;
Experience in standard computer programs at a moderate to advanced level of proficiency;
Bachelors degree in a related field from an accredited college or university.
Demonstrate proficiency in data analytics including pulling analyzing and interpreting education and performance data to identify trends and guide decision-making.
Exhibit experience with Report Writer LMS platforms Biospatial and ImageTrend for program oversight data analysis and performance monitoring.
Communicate effectively with multiple agencies training programs and stakeholders to support collaboration and ensure consistent information sharing.
Display the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
