Job Summary
Alaska West is currently seeking a Trailer Mechanic based out of Fairbanks Mechanic will repair and maintain commercial trucks machinery and mechanical equipment including engines motors pneumatic tools conveyor systems and production machines. Responsibilities will include complying will all company safety policies and DOT regulations performing routine maintenance and repairs on Commercial Motor Vehicle fleet andWhat makes you successful in this position: 1-3 years of proven work experience as diesel trailer and heavy equipment mechanic experienceProficient in using diagnostic tools and equipmentExcellent attention to detail and precision in workAbility to always follow all company policies and proceduresDuties and Responsibilities: Services and inspects commercial motor vehicles and deficiencies as identified on drivers post trip inspection repairs to air ride and spring type suspension and repairs electrical/lighting wheel end inspections and annual Commercial Motor Vehicle inspections per FMCSR brake inspections per FMCSR basic computer functions by completing job work orders using Transman Fleet Equipment Maintenance System recording materials used type of work accomplished and maintenance system company vehicles and forklifts in a safe professional should you work here Competitive wages with safety and performance bonusesTool allowance401k plan with up to 6% employer match Excellent benefit options including medical dental and vision with low costs for full family coverage.
