Traffic Systems OfficerEngineer

The Departmentfor Infrastructure and Transport plays a vital role connecting people andplaces in South Australia by managing roads marine and public transportnetworks across the State and builds and maintains the State-ownedinfrastructure that enables the delivery of essential and important governmentservices to our community.

The Traffic Systems team manages technology that keep SouthAustralias road network operating safely and efficiently while contributing tobroader transport corporate and government objectives.

The Traffic Systems Engineer delivers traffic signals andIntelligent Transport Systems solutions provides technical advice andsupports projects that improve network performance.

We are seeking an innovative and analytical problemsolver with strong logical thinking computer and technology skills and a passionfor continuous learning to solve complex problems and deliver smarter transportoutcomes for the community.

This role is a dual call and is being advertised at the PO2 and ASO5 classification levels in which the successful applicant will be appointed at the classification level commensurate with their skills and experience.

Educational Qualifications / Licences

• For PO: Degree in Engineering providing eligibility for graduate membership as a Professional Engineer of the Institution of Engineers Australia.
• A current drives licences is essential.

Special Conditions

• A National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment in theDepartment for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every threeyears.
• A Working with Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to employment with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every five years before expiry.
• Some out of hours and weekend work along with some intra/interstate travel may be required.

Tenure of Vacancy
Temporary appointment up to 12 months with potential for further 12 months extension.

Remuneration
PO2 - $94769to $109787 pa superannuation
ASO5 - $92122to $102456 pa superannuation.
