Will you help us design the next generation of revolutionary Apple productsn nThe Sensing Product Design team is looking for a talented mechanical engineer to develop great experiences and bring Apple products to life. We are the team developing many of the sensors that changed the way people interact with their technology. Touch redefined the phone and tablet Touch ID seamlessly secured them and the heart rate monitor let you keep tabs on yourself.

In this role you will be responsible for specifying developing characterizing and validating touch sensing systems. You will own the end-to-end design development and validation of sensing technology into Apples portfolio of products. You will work with a talented multifunctional team to generate design concepts. As the mechanical expert you will be responsible for the engineering analysis and documentation for your piece of the project. At the end of the extraordinary team effort your work will be in the hands of millions of people making a visible difference in their daily lives.

Identifying/brainstorming design solutions grading risk and informing final design. nLeading a cross-functional team through failure analysis to identify root-cause and inform corrective and managing the path-to-closure on complex multi-faceted rigorous and thoughtful experimental design to reduce design risk/uncertainty as quickly as tolerance studies to ensure designs are feasible over manufacturing to Apples engineering leadership in concise comprehensive technical the prototyping and validation phases you will support external manufacturing vendors with process development and root cause analysis for issues found during testing.

Hands-on experience in mechanical design failure analysis or product in 3D CAD modeling and drafting 2D technical drawings (GDu0026T).nStrong track record of applying structured root-cause methodologies and experimental design (DOE) to resolve complex electromechanical and willingness to travel internationally (5%10%) to support vendor bring-up and factory requirement of a bachelors degree

Proficiency in statistical analysis in MATLAB or JMP is preferred but not with sensor technology analog/digital signals flex circuits IC packaging is preferred but not written verbal and visual communication skills with the ability to articulate trade-offs and recommendations clearly.
