Working in accordance with the established policies and procedures the Toroid Worker is responsible for the finishing of toroid cores requiring powder coating cases special assembly etc. per customer specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Sizes toroids to specifications on process sheets.
- Using caliper measures dimensions of toroid to verify they are sized to specifications; removing any excess material to make size.
- Heats cores in oven or on hot plate to desired temperature depending on size and thickness of coating.
- Powder coats cores by clamping and dipping heated cores into fluidizing powder to thickness per customer specifications and places on rack to cool.
- Checks fluidized cores for size and imperfections and removes coating (if necessary) for re-fluidizing.
- Fills hole caused by clamp if required by customers specifications; repair any small imperfections to coating.
- Applies grease or silicon to inside of cases depending on specifications on process sheet places cores in case.
- When required seals cases using UV curing chamber; never opening chamber door while activated.
- Uses bench press to affix lids on cases.
- Places spacers in gap cores; applying joint compound when required.
- Wires gap cores to maintain required gap; soldering ends of wires and using buffing wheel to reduce solder to meet specifications.
- Inspects work in progress to confirm they are being built to specifications; returning part to previous department to re-work if needed or verifying that parts are in compliance before passing on to next department.
- Labels secondary containers per Hazardous Communication Plan.
- Disposes of hazardous waste into proper containers with label affixed for type of material and hazard.
- Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum one year experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Knowledge of basic mathematics.
- Ability to use Hand and power tools used in manufacturing work; especially tools used for measurements preferred.
