Job Summary

The Tool Distributor is responsible for issuing tracking and maintaining tools and equipment to support field operations safely and efficiently. This role ensures proper inventory control supports basic maintenance coordination and promotes safe tool usage in accordance with company policies. The Tool Distributor works closely with field personnel the Tool Department Manager and Warehouse to ensure timely availability and accountability of equipment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Distribute receive and track tools and equipment for field personnel.
  • Maintain accurate tool inventory records and perform regular inventory counts.
  • Inspect tools for condition and safety prior to distribution and upon return.
  • Coordinate repair and servicing of tools in accordance with company procedures.
  • Prepare stage and transfer equipment based on project needs.
  • Follow established procedures for tool checkout return and documentation.
  • Maintain a clean organized and efficient tool room environment.
  • Promote and adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
  • Report all work-related incidents and safety concerns to the Tool Department Manager.
  • Communicate recurring issues and recommend improvements to processes or inventory management.
  • Maintain professional and cooperative relationships with employees across departments.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support department operations.

This position requires collaboration with various departments within the Martinez office and interaction with field personnel at job sites as needed.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience in tool distribution warehouse inventory control or construction support preferred.

Computer Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook Word Excel).
  • Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience with inventory or asset tracking systems preferred.

Language Skills

  • Ability to effectively communicate in English with employees vendors and field staff.
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple levels within the organization.

  • Frequently required to bend stoop kneel crouch reach and climb.
  • Must be able to lift carry and move up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Work is performed in both office and warehouse/tool room environments with occasional visits to active job sites.
  • Requires use of a computer for tracking inventory and communication.
  • May require travel to job sites and the ability to safely navigate construction environments.
