Responsibilities:

• Assembles / disassembles troubleshoots repairs and maintains tooling and dies through a variety of standard methodology
• Performs complex machining to turn raw materials into finished dies and fixtures
• Performs preventive maintenance to ensure dies are as production ready as possible
• Maintains logs and appropriate records on die maintenance
• Reads/studies specifications such as blueprints sketches models and/or descriptions to determine materials and machines needed to fabricate parts
• Participates in tool design and prototype production
• Computes dimensions plans layout and determines methods for sequence of operations
• Measures marks and scribes metal stock for machining
• Verifies dimensions alignments and clearances
• Identifies a reasonable amount of time to complete a job and communicates problems and estimated repair times
• Utilizes and abides by ISO requirements
• Makes recommendations to continuously improve tooling and fixtures
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

• Operate Tool Room equipment
• Read and understand blueprints
• Heat-treating procedures
• Able to make basic detail prints of die sections
• Must be able to work on multiple jobs at one time
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Mathematical ability to perform basic math computations such as fractions percentages ratios and proportions
• High school diploma or GED required
• Journeymans card or equivalent a plus
• Computer skills crane and tow motor experience are a plus
