Tool & Die Apprentice

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Enroll & participate in our U.S. Department of Labor recognized Tool & Die Apprenticeship Program via Ivy Tech course work and on-the-job training; as specified in our Standards of Apprenticeship Agreement
• Assist with repairs and/or modifications to all tools and fixtures
• Assist technical services in machine repair change over set up and operation as required
• Safely operate all tool room equipment
• Assist with assembling and disassembling tooling dies gauges etc.
• Assist with trouble shooting and resolution of tooling issues
• Work with various materials such as general steels tool steels and advance high strength steels
• Work with a variety of tooling machinery; lathes mills grinders drill press jigs & fixtures CNC equipment TIG welding etc.
• Must have or acquire personal tools to perform job assignment
• Must be able to work any shift

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and/or equivalent experience
