Job Summary

The Tool & Die Repair Technician is responsible for maintaining and restoring production tooling used in casting and trim operations. This includes diagnosing tooling issues performing in-machine repairs rebuilding die components from blueprints and ensuring all dies are returned to production-ready condition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Repair rebuild and maintain casting and trim dies to original specifications
  • Disassemble clean transport and reassemble dies using cranes lift trucks and related equipment
  • Fabricate and replace die components (cores segments details trim punches) using blueprints
  • Perform die cavity polishing grinding and surface finishing to restore precision tolerances
  • Troubleshoot production tooling issues while dies are mounted in equipment
  • Perform welding and mechanical repairs in foundry and die repair environments
  • Correct dimensional issues remove stuck castings and adjust tooling as needed
  • Complete work orders documentation and inspection records accurately
  • Train and support new team members as required
  • Maintain a clean safe and organized work environment

Required Qualifications

  • Associates degree technical/trade school training or equivalent skilled trades experience
  • Ability to perform highly skilled die repair work and solve complex tooling problems
  • 2 years of hands-on experience in tool & die repair casting dies or trim dies (or equivalent apprenticeship/OJT completion)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Experience with die fabrication rebuilding and precision fitting
  • Hands-on experience with die cavity grinding/polishing and welding for die repair

Preferred Qualifications

  • Tool & Die Journeyman certification
  • Experience in automotive automotive supplier foundry stamping aerospace or heavy manufacturing environments

Compensation & Employment Details

  • Pay: $33.00 $35.00 per hour (based on experience)
  • Employment Type: Direct Hire
  • Job Level: Skilled Trades (Level 4 equivalent)
  • Overtime: Required and expected
  • Pre-employment Requirements: Drug screen and background check

  • Onsite role in Twinsburg OH (44087)
  • Heavy manufacturing / die shop environment
  • Use of cranes lift trucks welding equipment and precision tooling
  • Must be able to work extended shifts (5060 hours/week)
