Job Responsibilities:
- Fabrication & Repair: Construct alter and repair a wide variety of tools dies jigs fixtures and gauges to very close tolerances.
- Machine Operation: Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes milling machines shapers and grinders to machine parts.
- Blueprint Analysis: Study specifications engineering blueprints and tool orders to plan work.
- Design & Layout: Draw preliminary sketches; prepare layout and detail drawings.
- Strategy Development: Develop efficient strategies for fabricating designed dies using the most suitable machining resources.
- Quality & Safety: Meet all quality and efficiency expectations while complying with safety regulations and maintaining a clean orderly work area.
Skills Knowledge and Experience Required:
- Education: Minimum 4 years of high school/vocational school; completion of an apprentice program is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in a tool and die environment.
- Language: Ability to read write and communicate effectively in English.
- Technical Skills: Ability to interpret engineering specifications including operative sheets drawings and sketches.
- Mathematical Aptitude: Demonstrated ability to use shop mathematics including geometric and trigonometric formulas.
- Precision: Experience working with close dimensional tolerances and using all types of precision measuring instruments.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently.
