We are seeking an experienced Tool & Die Maker / Mold Maker to support the fabrication maintenance and repair of injection molds for plastic manufacturing. In this hands-on role you will lay out machine fit assemble and finish precision metal components to build and maintain high-quality molds that support production operations.
This is a full-time 1st shift on-site position in Painesville OH offering competitive pay and strong benefits in a stable manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints engineering drawings and technical specifications for mold and die construction
- Plan machining and assembly sequence by visualizing the final mold geometry in reverse of the finished parts
- Measure mark and scribe metal stock for precision machining and layout work
- Perform grinding fitting and finishing of components to achieve proper alignment and surface quality
- Assemble injection molds/dies and verify dimensional accuracy and tolerances
- Diagnose issues and perform mold repair maintenance and modifications to support production uptime
- Use precision measuring instruments to ensure quality standards are met
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow safety and operational procedures
- Perform additional duties as assigned in a manufacturing environment
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 5 years of experience as a Tool & Die Maker Mold Maker or similar precision machining role
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints technical manuals and engineering documents
- Experience applying basic algebra and geometry in machining and layout work
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and solve mechanical/production tooling issues
- Ability to write routine reports and communicate technical information clearly
- Hands-on experience in machining fitting assembly and mold repair
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience with injection molding tools and plastic manufacturing environments
- Background as a CNC Machinist Toolmaker or Mold Repair Technician
- Strong understanding of precision measurement tools (calipers micrometers gauges)
- Experience working in fast-paced production support or maintenance tooling roles
- Ability to work independently while maintaining quality and safety standards
