Tiverton Middle School PrincipalPosition: PrincipalSchool: Tiverton Middle SchoolReports To: Superintendent of SchoolsEmployment Status: Full-Time Twelve-Month Administrative PositionLocation: Tiverton Rhode IslandPosition SummaryThe Tiverton School Department seeks an experienced student-centered collaborative and visionary educational leader to serve as Principal of Tiverton Middle Principal is the instructional and operational leader of the school and is responsible for creating a safe inclusive supportive and academically rigorous learning environment in which every student is known valued challenged and supported. The Principal will work closely with students families faculty staff district administrators and community partners to advance the mission and priorities of Tiverton Public successful candidate will be a visible and accessible leader who builds trust develops strong relationships supports teachers and staff uses data to improve student outcomes and holds high expectations for both student achievement and adult performance. The Tiverton School Department will close this application within 10 ResponsibilitiesInstructional LeadershipEstablish and communicate a clear vision for teaching and learning aligned with district goals and the Tiverton Public Schools strategic as the schools instructional leader and promote high-quality standards-aligned student achievement attendance behavioral and other relevant data to identify needs and develop improvement meaningful teacher observations and evaluations that promote professional growth and improved instructional effective implementation of district curriculum instructional programs assessment practices MTSS and intervention differentiated instruction Universal Design for Learning and appropriate supports for diverse professional learning and create a culture of continuous student progress and ensure appropriate interventions are implemented in a timely Support Culture and School ClimateCreate a school culture characterized by high expectations belonging respect responsibility and positive that student discipline is fair consistent developmentally appropriate and aligned with district policy and applicable effective implementation of PBIS SEL restorative practices and other evidence-based approaches that support positive student behavior and students with disabilities multilingual learners students experiencing challenges and other historically underserved students receive appropriate supports and a safe and orderly school strong systems for attendance student engagement and dropout highly visible and accessible to students throughout the school and Staff DevelopmentRecruit select supervise evaluate and retain highly effective faculty and clear expectations for professional conduct performance collaboration and strong professional learning communities and promote collaboration among teachers and teacher leadership and encourage staff members to contribute to school personnel matters promptly fairly and in accordance with collective bargaining agreements district policies and applicable and celebrate the accomplishments of students and and Community EngagementEstablish positive respectful and responsive relationships with students and consistent and transparent communication with families regarding student learning school expectations events and important to parent and community concerns in a timely professional and solutions-oriented partnerships with community organizations and other agencies that support students and meaningful opportunities for family participation in the life of the Operations and ManagementOversee the day-to-day operation of Tiverton Middle compliance with federal and state laws Rhode Island Department of Education requirements district policies collective bargaining agreements and school and manage the school budget in collaboration with district staffing scheduling student placement supervision facilities transportation and other operational accurate records and ensure timely completion of required and regularly review emergency preparedness school safety and crisis-response collaboratively with district administrators regarding facilities technology transportation finance special education human resources and other district Education and Student ServicesEnsure compliance with IDEA Section 504 and applicable Rhode Island closely with special education and student services leadership to ensure students receive appropriate services and inclusive practices and effective collaboration among general education special education related-service providers and the effectiveness of IEP implementation and student support effective MTSS processes and coordinated interventions for LeadershipServe as an active member of the districts administrative leadership with the Superintendent and other district leaders to advance district to the development implementation and evaluation of the district strategic in district committees professional learning community events and other activities as a unified district culture in which schools work collaboratively toward common ProfileThe ideal candidate will demonstrate:A expectations and instructional leadership skills and knowledge of effective middle-level using data to drive instructional and organizational improvement.A demonstrated commitment to equity inclusion degree from an accredited college or Rhode Island Building Administrator certificate or eligibility for Rhode Island teaching and/or administrative experience in a K-12 educational leadership experience in curriculum instruction student support and school experience working collaboratively with faculty staff students and :Administrative experience at the middle-school supervising and evaluating teachers and other school implementing MTSS PBIS SEL and/or other schoolwide improvement with special education and inclusive instructional with strategic planning and data-driven school managing school budgets and ExpectationsThe Principal will be expected to establish measurable goals for school improvement in collaboration with the Superintendent and school community.
