The Campus Laboratory School at Carlow University is seeking a dedicated and innovative Third Grade Teacher to join our team.
The Third Grade Teacher is responsible for planning delivering and assessing instruction for third-grade students in alignment with the school curriculum and educational standards. This role fosters a safe inclusive and engaging classroom environment where students can grow academically socially and emotionally. The teacher collaborates with colleagues families and school leadership to support the overall success and well-being of each student.
Essential Functions:
The Third Grade Teacher is responsible for planning delivering and assessing instruction for third-grade students in alignment with the school curriculum and educational standards. This role fosters a safe inclusive and engaging classroom environment where students can grow academically socially and emotionally. The teacher collaborates with colleagues families and school leadership to support the overall success and well-being of each student.
Essential Functions:
- Plan prepare and deliver engaging lessons in reading writing mathematics science social studies and other subject areas.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students including English language learners and students with special needs.
- Implement classroom management strategies that promote a safe and respectful learning environment.
- Monitor assess and record student progress providing timely feedback to students and families.
- Collaborate with colleagues to design and improve curriculum instructional strategies and school-wide initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress classroom activities and school events.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and maintain current knowledge of best practices in education.
Other Non-Essential Functions
- Supervise students during lunch recess and school events as needed.
- Assist with school-wide initiatives extracurricular programs and community events.
- Support school policies and procedures and contribute to a positive school culture.
Minimum Education Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Elementary Education or a related field.
- Masters degree preferred but not required.
Minimum Related Experience
- Prior teaching experience in elementary education preferred.
- Experience working with third-grade students or within similar age groups is highly desirable.
Required Licenses/Certifications
- Valid state teaching certification for elementary education (K6 or 16 depending on state requirements).
- Additional endorsements or certifications (e.g. Reading Specialist Special Education) preferred but not required.
