Program Info
The Adolescent Supportive Housing Programs ofLife Link Homes(LLH) Expectant and Parenting Youth (EPY)offer permanent supportive housing for youthover 18who are homeless or aging out of the child welfare system. The programsprovidelife skills employment counseling and therapy to ensure a successful transition to self-sufficient living and to prevent long-term dependency on social services. Young adults whocomply withtheir lease requirements may remain until theydeterminethey have the skills and self-confidence to live fully independently.
Position Summary
Provide ongoing counseling services to youthresidingin theLLH and EPYprograms.Partner with LLHand EPYstaff as part ofan interdisciplinary team to support the mental health needs of the clients. Collaborate withAcendateam members to implement evidence-based services.
As an integrated healthorganizationAcendavalues the use of evidence-based practice or EBPs.
Responsibilities:
- Effectively engage residents provide emotional support therapy and linkages to helpyouthimprove their wellbeing andoverall functioning.
- Providetherapeutic assessmentintervention strategiesthat align with youth needs and mutually developedgoals andadjust services accordingly.
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessionsin youth apartments LLH office or in non-traditional settings.
- Assistin developingtreatment planswith independent living coordinatorsandparticipatein youth-ILC meetings as needed.
- Work collaboratively with coworkers and agency staff to effectively communicate andrespond to the needs of the youthandassistwith crisis intervention.
- Participate in youth applicant interviews to helpdeterminebestfit.
- Provide culturally competent service delivery.
- Uphold ethical standardsin accordance withthe Social Work Code of Ethics.
- Educateself onissuesimpactingthe program population.
- Conduct self in a professional manner that positively reflects theagencyculture.
- Attentive and responsive toclientneeds in a helpfulsupportiveandtimelymanner.
- Attend program meetingsandtrainingswithin establishedtime frames.
- Follows program policies and procedures and encourages the same in others.
- Completedocumentation within program requirements.
- Ensure quality and accuracy of written and verbal communications.
Requirements:
- Mastersdegree in social work psychologycounselingor related field and one year of full-time work experience in the provision of mental health services.
- Must have andmaintaina valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record.
- Must have experience with crisis intervention and conflict resolution.
- Must be able to exercise independent thinking and good judgment under all circumstances.
- Must be able to analyze work set goals developplansandutilizetime effectively and efficiently.
- Must be sensitiveflexibleand responsive to gender race ethnicity socio-economic status religion age sexualorientationor any other special needs.
Additional Information:
- Base Rate: $33.75/ Hourly
- Schedule: Day and/or Night (16-18 hours a week)
- Sign-on Bonus: $250
