Schedule:Monday - Friday 2:00pm-6:00pm
Salary Range: $22$24/hour
FLSA Status: Exempt

The Therapeutic Support Specialist helps youth/TAY build life skills strengthen relationships and increase resilience through individualized and group supports.

Support youth/TAY with visioning goal setting and future planning
Assist in developing and implementing individualized action plans treatment interventions and behavioral goals
Facilitate and monitor activities that promote socialization boundaries and community integration
Teach independent living skills such as budgeting shopping transportation use and self-care
Support educational career and vocational planning (applications interviews etc.)
Collaborate with Program Director Clinician caregivers and providers to ensure coordinated care
Assist in safety planning and support youth during crises
Advocate for youth/TAY to ensure services are strengthsbased and culturally responsive
Document progress outcomes and action plan updates in a timely and accurate manner
Utilize self-assessment data to support transition planning
Celebrate youth and family progress and achievements
Provide transportation to appointments and activities as needed
Participate in supervision and team meetings
Follow all BAMSI/DMH policies including safety and universal precautions
Perform additional duties as assigned

Education & Experience:
Associate or Bachelors degree in a human services field required
At least one (1) year of experience working with youth/TAY with mental behavioral or emotional challenges

Skills & Knowledge:
Strong interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills
Understanding of mental health trauma domestic violence substance use and family systems
Knowledge of the Wraparound model preferred
Familiarity with DMH DCF DDS DYS DOE and CBHI services (ICC IHT TM ABA FS&T outpatient) desired
Strong organizational documentation and computer skills

Additional Requirements:
Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings
Willingness to transport youth/families in personal vehicle
Ability to travel up to 80% within BAMSI service region
Valid drivers license and reliable transportation required
