• Updates treatments plans weekly and leads discussions at team conferences.
• Designs goal directed individualized treatment plans for each patient to assist in the patients rehabilitation process.
• Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of treatments and modifies treatment plans as indicated to obtain goals.
• Collaborates with the Volunteer Department facilitates and evaluates special programs such as Pet Therapy Friendly Visitors or any additional programs that may be beneficial to the residents being serviced.
• Ensures timely changes to the plan of care are documented and communicated to the patient health care team and family members as appropriate.
• Develops weekly and monthly calendars that include a variety of activities based on resident interests and suggestions.
• Plans and conducts activities that are relevant to the specific needs interests and cultural background of the patients.

• Bachelors Degree Therapeutic Recreation Psychology Sociology Social Work or related field
• 1 year Therapeutic Recreation Specialist in a healthcare setting or
• 1 year Social program or health care setting
• Problem solving skills.

• Less than 1 year Recreation Therapy
• Ability to interact and assess individuals with differences and psychiatric disorders.
• CTRS - Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist - National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification within 30 Days
