What are we looking for
The Tech II is responsible for performing the testing activities in the Durability test lab and coordinating testing activities to meet the service requirements of the laboratory for Furniture and/or Package Testing.
Shift/Schedule: 40 hours / week with variable schedule to maximize equipment utilization

What youll do:
Prepare test specimens perform testing and reporting of test results. The test includes physical mechanical visual inspections on tables chairs desks pallets boxes etc.
Read understand and follow lab standard operating procedures or Standard test Methods and /or client test methods as required by the customers
Co-ordinate work with other department team members to complete testing reporting and report issue in a timely manner
Communicate project status details to Department Manager and timely communicate any delays with the project stakeholders
Provide support in test selection review of lab test results and explain test results
Assist in keeping inventory of laboratory and equipment supplies necessary for the day-to-day functioning of the laboratory and in compiling a list of supplies to be ordered in timely manner
Organize tested and remnant samples from laboratory for sample archiving by logistics department
Demonstrate test procedure to auditors clients and support account managers during client visits
Assist in ISO 17025 laboratory accreditation and calibration activities of the laboratory and perform daily weekly and monthly Quality Assurance/Quality Control checks on equipment
Maintain general cleanliness and upkeep of the laboratory

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED and 3 years of directly related experience OR Bachelors Degree in Engineering or directly related technical field.
Microsoft Office proficiency including Word Excel and Outlook. Fluency in using computers is required.
Ability to utilize basic shop equipment and various hand tools
Ability to review understand and convey technical information in an effective manner
Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions
Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables
Ability to work in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
Strong communication skills in both verbal and written formats
Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:
Experience with ISTA and/or BIFMA test standards
Experience in ISO 17025 accredited laboratory with focus on Furniture and/or Package Testing
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds is a plus
Programming PLC experience is a plus
Ability to drive a Hilo
