Summary:
-
Conducts mechanical tests on aerospace materials aircraft parts and subcomponents to determine mechanical properties or characteristics of various design elements.

Runs MTS furnished testing software applications on servo-hydraulic and mechanical-screw load frames per ASTM and Military testing specifications.

Collects test data analyzes results documents findings and writes technical reports.

Develops and validates test articles rigs fixtures load introductions and instrumentation strategies to achieve test objectives.

Operates test equipment software and hardware to implement test plans and detailed procedures.

Coordinates test requirements determines test methods and evaluates testing capabilities.

Designs test setups and methods in collaboration with design engineering and fabrication teams.
-
Follows detailed test procedures safety plans and test checklists to ensure regulatory and internal compliance.

Performs data reduction and prepares technical reports and test summaries for multiple test programs.

Supports testing of multiple test programs and assists other technicians with test setup execution and documentation.
Requirements:
-
Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
-
AA degree in related discipline and typically 1 or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Basic PC skills with Windows OS for test equipment operation and data collection.

Ability to perform mechanical testing and operate test equipment.

Preferred: 1 years of experience in a lab or testing environment.

Preferred: Demonstrated experience in planning and executing structural static fatigue and proof tests on metallic and composite airframe components.

Preferred: Familiarity with structural test equipment including servo-hydraulic test machines load cells and fixtures as well as associated safety procedures.

Preferred: Experience with CATIA SolidWorks or similar CAD program for test fixture design.

Preferred: Proficiency in data reduction analysis and test reporting tools such as Microsoft 365 Python or SQL.

Preferred: Experience with MTS software application programs including TWE MPT TW4 or MTS 793.

Ability to lift up to 25-35 lbs as required for test setup and execution.
