Summary:

• Conducts mechanical tests on aerospace materials aircraft parts and subcomponents to determine mechanical properties or characteristics of various design elements.

• Runs MTS furnished testing software applications on servo-hydraulic and mechanical-screw load frames per ASTM and Military testing specifications.

• Collects test data analyzes results documents findings and writes technical reports.

• Develops and validates test articles rigs fixtures load introductions and instrumentation strategies to achieve test objectives.

• Operates test equipment software and hardware to implement test plans and detailed procedures.

• Coordinates test requirements determines test methods and evaluates testing capabilities.

• Designs test setups and methods in collaboration with design engineering and fabrication teams.

• Follows detailed test procedures safety plans and test checklists to ensure regulatory and internal compliance.

• Performs data reduction and prepares technical reports and test summaries for multiple test programs.

• Supports testing of multiple test programs and assists other technicians with test setup execution and documentation.

Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

• AA degree in related discipline and typically 1 or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Basic PC skills with Windows OS for test equipment operation and data collection.

• Ability to perform mechanical testing and operate test equipment.

• Preferred: 1 years of experience in a lab or testing environment.

• Preferred: Demonstrated experience in planning and executing structural static fatigue and proof tests on metallic and composite airframe components.

• Preferred: Familiarity with structural test equipment including servo-hydraulic test machines load cells and fixtures as well as associated safety procedures.

• Preferred: Experience with CATIA SolidWorks or similar CAD program for test fixture design.

• Preferred: Proficiency in data reduction analysis and test reporting tools such as Microsoft 365 Python or SQL.

• Preferred: Experience with MTS software application programs including TWE MPT TW4 or MTS 793.

• Ability to lift up to 25-35 lbs as required for test setup and execution.
