We are currently seeking a Test Engineer for our Power Electronics Test & Validation team. Our idealcandidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches their work with vigor and determination. Candidateswill be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields to possess the ability to learn quicklyand to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.
In this role you will execute component- and system-level validation of power electronics hardware buildand maintain test setups and contribute to the development and execution of Design Verification Plans &Reports (DVP&R) under the guidance of senior team members.
Role:
- Execute component- and system-level verification and validation testing for power electronics products (on-board chargers DC-DC converters inverters and related high voltage assemblies) ensuring compliance with internal requirements and industry standards.
- Support the development execution and maintenance of DVP&Rs: draft test cases from requirements track test status and coverage log results and report pass/fail against acceptance criteria.
- Review electrical and mechanical schematics and create test cell layouts for instrumentation low voltage and high voltage circuitry.
- Build wire and commission test benches including jigs and fixtures instrumentation harnessing and data acquisition systems for performance and reliability evaluation.
- Contribute to the definition of system-level test setups including load profiles thermal and environmental conditioning and HV/LV interface configurations working closely with the lead
validation engineer. - Perform hands-on testing and troubleshooting using lab equipment (battery simulators power supplies E-loads oscilloscopes current probes power analyzers thermal chambers DAQ systems).
- Support root-cause investigation of test failures and anomalies capture supporting data and escalate findings with clear technical summaries.
- Process and analyze test data generate plots and summary metrics and author clear well-organized test reports.
- Maintain lab equipment calibration records test documentation and safe HV lab practices.
- Collaborate with design systems quality and manufacturing teams to support issue resolution and design iterations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or higher in Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Power Electronics or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in power electronics development and testing preferred.
- Solid understanding of power electronics fundamentals (switching topologies magnetics control loops thermal behavior).
- Good hands-on experience with hardware test and validation including bench build-up and instrumentation.
- Familiarity with various test equipment (force gauge thermocouples power supplies multimeter hi-pot tester oscilloscopes E-loads DAQ).
- Exposure to DVP&R creation and requirements-based test case development.
- Knowledge of automotive and industrial environmental reliability requirements (GMW ISO IEC standards).
- Working knowledge of high voltage safety practices and lab safety procedures.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly.
Preferred:
- Experience with test automation and data analysis (Python LabVIEW MATLAB or equivalent).
- Experience with CAN communication and vehicle/bench-level diagnostic tools.
- Experience testing HV automotive power conversion hardware in a lab or vehicle environment
