Test Engineer 2nd shift

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth were looking to add a Test Engineer located in Salt lake city UT.

Reporting to the Test Engineering manager the Test Engineer will be responsiblefor implementing and maintaining cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting systems software and/or equipment.

Shift - 3:00pm -11:00pm

What a typical day looks like:

• Directs and/or coordinates electronic engineering and/or technical personnel in fabrication and design of testing and test control apparatus and equipment or software and systems testing.

• Directs and coordinates electronic engineering activities concerned with development procurement installation and calibration of instruments equipment and control devices required to test and record test data.

• Interfaces and confers with scientific engineering and technical personnel to resolve testing problems such as product or system malfunctions incomplete test data data interpretation or coding issues.

• Evaluates and interprets test data and prepares technical reports for use by electronic or software engineering and management personnel.

• May develops or use computer software and hardware to conduct tests on electronic products and systems or software.

• Trains and instructs floor support test technicians and test operators on test hardware and/or software as well as problem solving techniques.

• Resolves test yield problems by performing evaluation of root causes developing and coordinating corrective action measures and monitoring improvements.

• Perform and support equipment verification and integration in production.

• Create and maintain process documentation.

• Actively search for new technologies or procedures in the test sector.

• Defines conditions under which tests are to be conducted and sequences and phases of test operations.

FUNCTIONAL

• Develops and/or modifies test programs using various languages (.).

• Develops and/or supports diagnostic tests at the card edge level.

• Supports functional test hardware computer platforms and interfaces.

• Develops test plans and procedures.

• Coordinates 3rd party development of functional testdevelopment enhancements test fixtures.

• Develops quotations for functional test hardware and software.

SYSTEMS & Software

• Evaluates and interprets software or system level diagnostic failure (software and hardware).

• Develops and/or modifies software or system level plans and tests.

• Develops and/or supports quality comprehensive test programs.

• Develops quotes for test development and enhancements.

• Performs test ability evaluation (DFT).

The experience were looking to add to our team:

• Typically requires 4 years of experience in test engineering in the high technology electronics industry or related area.

• Demonstrates advanced functional and technical skills and basic process skills. Demonstrates advanced/thorough knowledge of the function and requires skill and troubleshooting and diagnostics and overview of the entire test process and the ability to train others.

• Ability to read analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals. Ability to write reports business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively communicate with managers and employees of the organizations.

• Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents logarithms quadratic equations and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution determination of test reliability and validity analysis of variance correlation techniques sampling theory and factor analysis.

• Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

• Impacts the near-term (quarterly/semi-annual)operational success of the function. Enhances and provides input to functional processes or technologies. Assists in achieving section/sub-function objectives for a functional area. Demonstrates capability in leading a major initiative that may impact multiple sites/customers.

• Exercises independent judgment within generally defined procedures and policies for selecting methods techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Provides input for team decisions. Decisions may affect sections/sub-functions.

• Normally receives no instruction. Identifies skills needed within team and works with team to achieve Flex values.
