Job Description:
Teaches a full range of courses in the Automotive Technology Program including all Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) automotive areas. Prepares and delivers lectures to students on various topics in relation to a specific discipline Evaluates and grades students class work laboratory work assignments and papers Prepares course materials such as syllabi homework assignments and handouts Keeps abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature speaking with colleagues and participating in professional conferences Maintains student attendance records grades and other required records Initiates facilitates and moderates classroom discussions As needed advises students on academic and vocational curricula and on career issues Plans evaluates and revises curricula course content and course materials and methods of instruction Compiles administers and grades examinations Collaborates with colleagues to address teaching and research issues Maintains regularly scheduled office hours to advise and assist students Selects and obtains materials and supplies such as textbooks and laboratory equipment Serves on academic or administrative committees that deal with institutional polices department matters and academic issues Participates in campus and community events
Associate degree in Automotive Technology Automotive Service Technology or a closely related field. Minimum of five years of full-time professional experience as an automotive service technician diagnostician or in a closely related automotive service position. Master ASE certification. Evidence of current industry training and professional development preferably completed within the last three years. Teaching training or instructional experience in a postsecondary secondary industry apprenticeship or workforce-development setting. Demonstrated knowledge of current automotive systems diagnostic technologies and service practices. Knowledge of curriculum and training design teaching methods and instructional practices. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent productivity and instructional technology. Strong verbal written interpersonal and organizational skills. Demonstrated logical reasoning critical-thinking and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with and respond appropriately to the needs of a diverse student population. Preferred Bachelors degree in Automotive Technology Automotive Engineering Technology Engineering Technology or a related field. Demonstrated experience with current and emerging automotive technologies including advanced diagnostics vehicle electronics hybrid/electric vehicles ADAS and related systems. Manufacturer-specific training or certifications through Ford Motor Company General Motors or other automotive manufacturers. Ford or GM credentials/training qualifying the candidate to deliver STST (Service Technician Specialty Training) or other manufacturer-specific certification courses. Experience developing or delivering competency-based automotive curriculum and laboratory instruction. Experience working with automotive industry partners dealerships repair facilities manufacturers or workforce-development programs.
This is a full-time tenure track faculty opportunity.The selected faculty member hired for this position could teach at any one ofthe Colleges campuses or sites.

Total Compensation & Benefits:
Target Hiring Rate/Salary:$58165 with B.A. plus 30 semester hours (45quarter credits) or M.A. degree; Education less than or more than stated willaffect minimum salary. This salary reflects a nine (9) month contract can work during summer sessions to earn additional wages.
