TEMPORARY EMPLOYMENT ANNOUNCEMENT
Harrisburg is located in the Mid-Willamette Valley between Eugene and Corvallis.
No experience needed! Harrisburg will provide training!
POSTING DATE: September 16 2026
POSITION: Temporary Student Support Assistant Harrisburg Middle School
47 temporary contract days; Harrisburg operates on a 4-day school week M-TH with some Fridays. CPI training provided.
SALARY RANGE: $20.00- $26.91 per hour
Placement on the salary schedule will be commensurate with experience and assignment.
QUALIFICATIONS AND APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Completed application through TalentEd at: assistants for Special Ed may be required to have knowledge of ADHD autism anger and behavior management and physical health needs in children.
- Basic computer and office machine skills.
- Ability to assist the teacher with behavior management
- Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to communicate fluently verbally and in writing in English. Ability to effectively present information and respond effectively to questions in one-on-one and small group situations to students and other school staff. Ability to verbally respond to common inquiries from students. Ability to read and interpret instructions short correspondence and memos. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral schedule or diagram form.
- Ability to work well with others from diverse backgrounds. Focused on solving conflict maintaining confidentiality listening to others keeping emotions under control and contributing to building a positive team spirit.
- Demonstrated ability to work with students successfully.
