ABOUT THE POSITION



The County of Riversides Human Resources Temporary Assignment Program seeks Temporary Elections Assistants (TEAs)
to support the Registrar of Voters upcoming November 3 2026 General Election.
There are multiple positionsavailable please see below for more details.

Schedule: 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday including weekends and holidays with mandatory overtime.

Temporary

Assignment Program (TAP) recruits and hires temporary employees for all County

departments. TAP assignments are a great way to learn about working for the

County while working on a temporary at-will basis.

To serve voters and candidates by performing a variety of election-related services and carrying out other duties as assigned within the Registrar of Voters office.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: Customer service experience that involved meeting the public obtaining and recording factual information or explaining rules regulations policies/procedures be proficient in EnglishANDmust be bilingual in one of the following languages:

  • Spanish
  • Hmong
  • Japanese
  • Punjabi
  • Thai
  • Urdu
  • Chinese Mandarin
  • Chinese Cantonese
  • Vietnamese
  • Korean
  • Tagalog
Knowledge: Perform routine clerical work; learn office practices procedures and equipment; make simple arithmetic calculations; understand and follow written and oral instructions; establish and maintain cooperative relations with the public.

Ability to: Perform general clerical work; Understand and follow both written and oral instructions as well as established policies and procedures; Perform non-sedentary duties; Regularly lift over 25 pounds; Work in a fast-paced environment

License/Certificate: Possession of a valid California Drivers License may be required.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION

Testing Requirement:
Bilingual Proficiency: Candidates whose applications indicate bilingual proficiency in one of the following languages:Korean Vietnamese Chinese CantoneseHmong Japanese or Thai will be required to verify their bilingual skills in a proctored test environment.

Please Note: Appointees will be required to work any shift including evenings weekends and holidays with mandatory overtime as needed.

Location and Telework
In-person attendance is the standard work expectation for County of Riverside assignments. Certain assignments may be eligible for a hybrid telework schedule; however telework arrangements are subject to management approval operational needs and/or may be modified or discontinued at any time. Employees who telework are expected to be able to report to their assigned worksite on short notice or as operational needs require. Unless otherwise specified for a particular position employees are expected to reside in California following appointment. Limited exceptions may apply. Pre-Employment

Probationary Period
As an Approved Local Merit System all County of Riverside employees except those serving At Will are subject to the probationary period provisions as specified in the applicable Memorandum of Understanding County Resolution or Salary Ordinance. Temporary and Per Diem employees serve at the pleasure of the agency/department head.
