What Youll Do
The candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality detailed design packages for Joint Test Assembly (JTA) telemetry test equipment providing comprehensive technical contributions from initial concept through deployment and production field support. This role requires translating complex electrical design requirements into functional producible engineering drawings. The candidate will also build and manage complex software architectures to automate test requirements interface with databases create operator interfaces and consolidate results into formal reports. Additionally the candidate will lead tester development integrate test equipment with reference units verify requirements and provide critical troubleshooting support within production test environments.
This position requires a refined multidisciplinary skill set as it entails serving as a technical project lead software lead and/or hardware lead. Responsibilities span the full project lifecycle including detailed analog digital and RF hardware design overseeing fabrication and defining and executing qualification test plans. The candidate will leverage robust project management skills and a self-starter attitude while collaborating with internal organizations and external agencies to guarantee project success. Throughout the design and development process this role demands continuous meticulous attention to detail while performing complex engineering analyses and calculations to realize JTA test equipment solutions.
Minimum Job Requirements
Bachelors degree in engineering/science discipline
OR Masters degree in engineering/science discipline
OR PhD degree in engineering/science discipline
Department of Energy (DOE) Order 426.2A Requirements
In addition to the above requirements the applicant must also meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A (i.e. Baccalaureate in engineering or related science 2 years job-related and at least 1 year nuclear experience or a DOE O 426.2A alternative). DOE O 426.2A experience requirements can be satisfied following the interim newly hired personnel will not be assigned duties that could impact the safety basis of nuclear facilities. (Ref. DOE O 426.2A)
Preferred Job Requirements
Bachelors degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related field from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited program in the United States or designated equivalents thru ABET Mutual Recognition Agreements (MRA)
A minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) is preferred for up to four years post-graduation confirmed by transcript at the time of offer. Beyond four years from graduation relevant experience will supersede GPA in hiring considerations.
Bachelors degree with a minimum 3.0/4.0 cumulative GPA
Masters degree with a minimum 3.3/4.0 cumulative GPA
PhD with a minimum 3.5/4.0 cumulative GPA
Collaborate with design and development teams to review technical specifications and provide meaningful feedback on system architecture and functionality
Analyze and interpret complex system drawings to understand functionality troubleshoot effectively and contribute to the design of future systems
Design implement and debug automated test solutions using C# LabVIEW and TestStand
Lead automation initiatives from concept through full hardware and software implementation including the selection and qualification of programmable instrumentation
Design develop and execute comprehensive test plans and create well-structured reusable test cases for complex hardware and software systems
Identify document and thoroughly track system defects; perform regression testing and work with internal teams to investigate causes and implement solutions
Provide field support for production including system maintenance repairs and contributing to equipment redesigns and new builds
Demonstrate strong initiative and adept project management skills to work independently manage multiple tasks and adapt to shifting priorities
