Telecommunications Design Engineer (TS)

This role requires a strong blend of handson Operations & Maintenance (O&M) work detailed engineering documentation and strategic architectural analysis. The ideal candidate will maintain and develop core infrastructure designs that comply with Department of Defense (DoD) and commercial best Responsibilities:Perform daily O&M activities including direct-touch maintenance troubleshooting configuration updates and provisioning for telecommunications and data center IT and telecommunications architectures to develop longrange engineering strategies and modernization and maintain key engineering work products including: IT and telecommunications roadmapsEngineering configurations and design packagesRack elevations and physical infrastructure drawingsBills of materials (BOMs)As-built documentationEnsure all data center and telecommunications network designs adhere to DoD commercial industry and enterprise architecture and support Layer 1 and Layer 2 infrastructure including copper and fiber cabling systems patch panels racks cabinets and switching and maintain systems supporting data centers conference rooms communications closets pathways and structured cabling infrastructure power and environmental systems including UPS ATS battery systems HVAC cooling and related facility logistics for site readiness installation planning staging and expert-level guidance on telecommunications standards structured cabling physical layer design and best detailed engineering diagrams topology maps and infrastructure documentation for technical and accreditation Qualifications:Active TS/SCI clearance.12 years of experience analyzing designing and developing IT and telecommunications infrastructure using DoD and commercial degree in Electrical Engineering Telecommunications Engineering Computer Science or related technical DoD 8140 certifications (any one of): NetworkSecurityCloudSSCPCASPCISSPCCNP SecurityRequired technical certifications: Vendor/OEM network infrastructure certificationBICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) or equivalent design credentialPreferred Certifications (Plus):BICSI RCDD (if not already required)BICSI senior design specialization or advanced pathways/cabling certificationsCCNACTSD (for AV/communications integration environments)Manufacturer design certifications (e.g. Cisco HPE Aruba CommScope Corning)Required Technical Knowledge:Detailed understanding of Layer 1 and Layer 2 IT infrastructure and physical in: Data center designConference room and AV communications integrationCommunications closets and structured cabling pathwaysPower cooling UPS ATS and electrical support systemsCopper and fiber cabling specifications and installation standardsRack/stack operations and equipment provisioningSite logistics staging procurement and facility coordinationPreferred Experience:Developing enterprise telecommunications infrastructure within DoD or IC complex facilities architectures including pathway mapping equipment layouts and infrastructure modernization with engineering governance frameworks enterprise architecture methodologies or largescale design review physical infrastructure projects with facility engineers electricians and construction :TS/SCI security clearance required candidate will not be considered Equal Employment Opportunity Policy:The company is an equal opportunity employer.
