The HV Battery Build Technician is a hands-on role responsible for supporting the assembly testing and basic diagnostics of high-voltage (HV) battery systems. This position focuses on prototype build and validation activities requiring strong attention to detail adherence to safety and quality standards and a willingness to learn and grow within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support assembly and teardown of HV battery modules and packs including cell integration busbar and coolant systems enclosure sealing and diagnostic inspection
  • Assist with validation and lifecycle testing operating assembly tools basic electrical test equipment and CAN-based communication tools as required.
  • Perform routine inspections measurements and basic diagnostics escalating issues to senior technicians or engineering as needed.
  • Execute battery pack and module builds while following defined procedures work instructions and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with build team members and supervisors to meet production and testing objectives while maintaining quality standards.
  • Maintain detailed records of build and test activities ensuring accurate reporting of issues and results.
  • Uphold a safe working environment and proactively identify and report potential safety concerns.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and support implementation efforts to enhance build efficiency and consistency.

Qualifications

  • 23 years of experience in automotive manufacturing or technical assembly environments.
  • Associates degree in a technical field ASE certification or equivalent practical experience.
  • Foundational knowledge of HV battery systems electrical components and safe handling practices.
  • Experience with mechanical assembly hand tools and basic electrical test equipment (e.g. multimeter).
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office (Excel Word) for documentation and reporting.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work within a team environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with electrical schematics and basic troubleshooting methods.
  • Exposure to CAN communication tools or battery test systems.
  • High voltage certification (or willingness to obtain).
