This role is part of Blue Origin Operations which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain Test Operations Safety Quality and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

Job Summary

As an Assembly Integration Technician at Blue Origin you willbe responsible forStructural Fabrication Fluid System Installs and Avionic System Integration for the GS2 Sub-Assembly location.

Key Responsibilities

Avionics

• Harness installation and routing
• Avionic unit installation
• Mate/De-Mate Connectors
• Knowledge of proper handling of avionic units including ESD precautions connector inspection/nomenclature thermal materials grounding and wire damage/repair
• IPC-620/610 certification
• J-STD certification
• Application of sealants
• Thermocouple installation
• Click Bond installation
• RTD installation
• Installation and testing of patch heaters

Fluid Systems

• Fitting and tubing installation
• Installation of Seals K-Seal O-Rings Nose Seals etc.
• Filter and Check-Valve assembly
• Umbilical/System Panel Assembly
• Performing servicing and leak-check testing on GN2 GO2 and/or GHe systems
• Safety wire/cable installation
• Proper use of Krytox
• Inspect hardware with visual UV light borescope microscopic particle count and high-precision weighing methods to ensure compliance with cleanliness standards.

Structural

• Precision hand drilling
• Power-fed drill (PFD) operation
• Nutplate installation
• Key insert installation
• Preventative maintenance of drill motors and attachments
• Metrology for jigs lifting fixtures and inspections
• Safety wire/cable installation

Team Focus & Domain Expertise

The GS2 Sub-Assembly team at Blue Origin plays a pivotal role in advancing the efficiency and reliability of Aerospace components throughcutting-edgeassembly methods. As part of a large passionate and accomplished team of experts you will manufacture assemble and test hardware on the second stage AFT Module AFT/FWD Skirts or System Panel Assemblies for the New Glenn Vehicle. You will share in the teams impact on all aspects of transforming the way our GS2 AFT Modules are made and integrated. If you share our passions and vision thrive in a dynamic production environment excel on integrated cross-functional teams are experienced and skilled in several relevant technologies look no further. This position will directlyimpactthe history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention toward safe and repeatable spaceflight.

Minimum Qualifications

• Operate calibrated tools and measurement devicessuch as torque wrenches micrometers calipers and multi-meters tomaintainquality and safety standards.
• Fabricate assemble and integrate aerospace components according to engineering instructions and specifications.
• Ability to accurately interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Record of success as a hands-on doer or technical leader.
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced dynamic environments with evolving responsibilities.
• Proactively support continuous improvement initiatives andmaintaina safe organized work areain accordance with5S principles.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams tooptimizemanufacturing processes and resolve technical challenges.
• Document work performed andcommunicatepromptly with engineering and quality teams.
• Inspect assembliesidentifydiscrepancies and execute repairs or modifications asrequired.
• Basic computerproficiency(Windows Microsoft Office Suite).
• Ability to lift 50lbsand work at heights (stands ladders lifts) and/or in confined spaces.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge in precision hole drilling using power feed drills and hand drills;maintainstrict quality tolerances and proper angularity across aluminum titanium Inconel and composite materials.
• Hands-on experience with pressurized pneumatic or hydraulic systems.
• Experience working on fluid systems with applied chemistry fundamentals
• Demonstrated experience in surface preparation sealing bonding painting and priming for aerospace applications.
• Skilled in harness routing proper use of zip ties spacers and tie mounts. Ability to route harnesss without crossing or riding structure.
• Knowledge on proper use and installation of avionic units and systems.
• Trade school training industry certifications or a relevant technical degree.
• Green Belt Certification/5S Lean Sigma Six
