Technical Writer

The Opportunity:
Creates FEMA-compliant assessment documentation templates reports and briefings; supports project reporting and Section 508 compliance.



Responsibilities:

Work Location: Washington DC (currently hybrid)
Draft and maintain system assessment templates scoring rubrics interview guides and data call artifacts.
Prepare Draft/Final System Assessment Profiles dependency/integration matrices modernization recommendations and Final Assessment Report.
Ensure documentation aligns with FEMA standards privacy/records requirements and Section 508 accessibility.
Support weekly/biweekly progress reports; coordinate review cycles and incorporate Government comments into final deliverables.

Qualifications:

Required:
Ability to obtain DHS EOD
8 years technical writing in federal IT programs
Expertise producing structured deliverables and applying accessibility standards


Desired:
Experience with DHS/FEMA documentation templates
Background as project coordinator or deputy PM
