Employment Type: Full-Time Direct Hire
Work Arrangement: Hybrid option available after the first 90 days
Salary Range: $110000$135000 per year

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Technical Manager to provide technical leadership for land development projects in Los Angeles. This position will serve as a technical strategist central design resource and mentor for civil engineering teams.

The successful candidate will help develop and improve technical processes review complex engineering deliverables mentor junior staff and oversee projects from entitlement through construction support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a technical strategist for civil engineering and land development projects
  • Provide technical leadership for land development site development water resources and related projects
  • Develop refine and implement technical processes and design methodologies
  • Serve as the central design figure for complex civil engineering projects
  • Manage land development projects from entitlement through design and construction support
  • Conduct detailed technical reviews of engineering plans calculations reports and other deliverables
  • Participate actively in quality assurance and quality control processes
  • Mentor engineering staff and facilitate technical knowledge transfer
  • Support advanced technical training and professional development
  • Delegate tasks and oversee the performance of engineering team members
  • Participate in employee reviews and other supervisory responsibilities
  • Ensure engineering work meets applicable standards regulations agency requirements and quality expectations
  • Coordinate effectively with project teams clients agencies and other stakeholders
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline from an accredited four-year institution
  • Minimum of six years of civil engineering design experience
  • Minimum of three years of experience serving as a central design figure technical mentor or technical project lead
  • Active Engineer-in-Training certification
  • Experience managing land development projects from entitlement through construction support
  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering design principles and technical processes
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing technical engineering deliverables
  • Experience delegating work mentoring staff and supporting team development
  • Excellent decision-making communication leadership technical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active Professional Engineer license
  • Experience with site development and water resources projects
  • Experience developing or improving technical design standards and methodologies
  • Experience participating in formal QA/QC programs
  • Experience supervising engineering staff and conducting performance reviews
