Job Summary

The Technical Accounting Manager serves as the organizations subject matter expert on technical accounting matters by researching interpreting and applying U.S. GAAP and IFRS standards. The role provides accounting guidance on complex transactions develops accounting policies prepares technical documentation supports financial reporting and works closely with auditors and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Research and interpret U.S. GAAP IFRS SEC and other accounting standards.
  • Analyze complex accounting transactions and determine appropriate accounting treatment.
  • Prepare technical accounting white papers accounting policy memos and guidance documents.
  • Develop and maintain the organizations accounting policies and procedures.
  • Serve as the primary technical accounting advisor for finance and business teams.
  • Provide accounting guidance on business transactions contracts restructurings and regulatory changes.
  • Support external audits by preparing technical documentation and defending accounting positions.
  • Review and prepare financial statement disclosures and accounting policy notes.
  • Ensure consistency between accounting policies and financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with Finance Tax Treasury Legal Operations and other departments.
  • Deliver technical accounting training and guidance to finance team members.
  • Monitor new accounting standards and assess their impact on the organization.
Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
  • Masters degree or MBA preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required.
  • 610 years of progressive accounting experience with strong technical accounting expertise.
  • Public accounting experience preferred.
  • Experience preparing accounting white papers and technical accounting memos.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and IFRS.
  • Experience supporting external audits and financial reporting.
  • Excellent analytical research written communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and executive leadership.
