Job Summary

Description

The team lead under the supervision of the area manager will provide technical and operations support for the laboratory area as well as performing testing peer review and reporting as appropriate. They will train staff and help organize laboratory activities to help the lab meet performance goals in quality timeliness and volume.

Responsibilities

Perform testing peer review and reporting for all test methods for laboratory area.
Train workforce on technical processes and SOPs for the laboratory area.
Schedule or oversee scheduling as assigned for the laboratory area.
Recommend process improvement initiatives based on observation and data collection.
Manage laboratory projects by assigning resources and monitoring timelines and metrics.
Help team meet safety quality timeliness productivity and cost control objectives.
Ensure that equipment is maintained in proper operating condition and ensure that the necessary documentation is organized and accessible.
Ensure appropriate technical support for laboratory area.
Perform other duties as requested.



Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience training mentoring and developing laboratory staff involved in sample preparation and exposures procedures.
  • Proven experience coordinating daily laboratory operations in a production environment including workflow management task prioritization resource allocation and scheduling to ensure on-time completion of testing activities.
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory processes including sample preparation reagent/buffer water preparation dimensioning sample exposure processes and laboratory data review.
  • High mechanical aptitude.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot laboratory processes identify operational inefficiencies and implement corrective actions to improve productivity and quality.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory quality requirements data integrity principles peer review processes and documentation practices.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with a demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced laboratory environment while maintaining safety quality productivity and turnaround-time expectations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to handle both desk and laboratory work environments.
May be required to stand for long periods of time.
Moderate to heavy physical effort periodically required
