Team Lead- Advanced Purchasing Buyer

This position is responsible for theexecution of all purchasing requirements with a primary focus on ensuringsecurity of supply reducing costs and developing suppliers.

Essential Functions:

• Develop and manage the mechanical/electromechanics/electronics supplier base and supply chain for assigned projects including escalation of quality & logistics issues
• Lead / support negotiations with suppliers for assigned commodities to achieve the best price quality and schedule
• Support purchasing activities for cross-functional product development programs
• Utilize organization-wide purchasing policies and ensure compliance
• Work with Quality to develop and maintain supplier performance
• Coordinate the qualification of new suppliers
• Research new sources of materials supplies and services making recommendations to reduce costs and improve quality
• Maintain all required records of purchases prices and deliveries
• Serve as technical resource in matters related to changing market conditions
• Participation in cost reduction activities to meet Purchasing targetsCoordinate and balance workload across Advance Purchasing Team to meet new program time lines

Required Skills and Knowledge:

• Advanced knowledge of supplier development and sourcing in a manufacturing environment
• Previous experience with board-level electronic PCB and electromechanical component is preferred
• SAP ERP experience is preferred
• Advanced computer skills including the use of Windows email and Microsoft Office
• Advanced verbal communication skills including negotiation and influencing
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with senior management supervisors vendors and employees
• Demonstrated project management skill

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelors degree in business administration supply chain or related field preferred
• 5 years related experience in a manufacturing and electronic component purchasing environment desirable
• Any equivalent combination of education training and experience
