Teaching Associate Professor

Job Summary
The Teaching Associate Professor is responsible for teaching up to three biology courses per semester (80%) which may include fundamental classes for biology majors such as cell biology and genetics biodiversity (ecology evolution and organismal biology) general biology for non-majors and advanced biology classes in areas of the candidates expertise. The Teaching Associate Professor is also expected to engage in departmental service (20%) and will have opportunities for summer teaching conducting tutoring and supplemental instruction and student advising. The position will be for an initial fixed term period of one to three years with potential for renewal.
Preferred Qualifications Competencies And Experience
The strongest candidates will have relevant experience teaching classes in-person in addition to remote and online instruction. Applicants with a record of independent college teaching ideally with in-person experience along with a commitment to using evidence-based teaching methods in the classroom are preferred as are applicants with strong interdisciplinary content knowledge. Applicants with a pedagogical understanding in the field of biology at the college level.
