Adelphi is seeking qualified Paraprofessionals to provide classroom instructional and student support services within schools in Woonsocket Rhode Island. The Paraprofessionals will work under the direction of certified teachers special education personnel and school administrators to support student learning reinforce classroom instruction assist with behavior and daily routines and help students participate safely and successfully in their educational programs.

Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience working with children or adolescents in a school childcare special education behavioral health or related setting preferred.
Responsibilities
Assist classroom teachers with the implementation of instructional activities classroom assignments and daily educational routines.
Provide individual or small-group assistance to students under the direction of the classroom teacher or special education professional.
Reinforce academic concepts communication skills social skills functional skills and positive classroom behaviors.
Support students in accessing classroom instruction completing assignments using educational materials and participating in school activities.
Implement accommodations modifications behavior strategies and student supports identified in Individualized Education Programs or other approved plans.
Observe student performance and behavior and communicate relevant information to the supervising teacher or designated school personnel.
Collect and document academic behavioral attendance or service-related data as directed.
Assist with classroom management by redirecting students reinforcing expectations and promoting a safe and respectful learning environment.
Supervise students during classroom activities transitions arrival and dismissal lunch recess transportation and other assigned school activities.
Assist students with mobility positioning feeding toileting or other daily living needs when required by the assignment and when appropriately trained.
Prepare instructional materials organize classroom supplies and assist with routine classroom or clerical tasks.
Collaborate with teachers administrators special education personnel therapists families and other members of the student support team.
Follow all school and district policies concerning student safety confidentiality mandated reporting professional conduct and emergency procedures.
Participate in required meetings orientation sessions training programs and professional development activities.
Perform other duties as assigned
