Job Summary

TITLE: Elementary STEAM Teacher

REPORTS TO: Principal

SUPERVISES: N/A

TERM: 10 Months

JOB GOAL:
To provide engaging interdisciplinary instruction in Science Technology Engineering Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) through hands-on inquiry-based learning experiences that foster creativity critical thinking collaboration communication and problem-solving skills. The STEAM Teacher will support students in applying academic concepts to real-world challenges while promoting innovation and lifelong learning.

QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING:

  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Hold a valid Tennessee teaching license issued by the Tennessee Department of Education with appropriate endorsement for elementary education or a related instructional area.
  • Meet all Tennessee Department of Education licensure requirements.
  • Demonstrated organizational and classroom management skills.
  • Effective decision-making and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of STEAM instructional practices project-based learning and technology integration.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers administrators students families and community partners.

EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Boards policy on evaluation of personnel.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Job Description: STEAM Teacher

  • Deliver STEAM-oriented instruction through project-based inquiry-based and hands-on learning methods.
  • Design and implement interdisciplinary lessons that integrate science technology engineering arts and mathematics standards.
  • Employ a variety of instructional strategies educational technologies instructional media and performance assessments that guide the learning process toward curriculum goals and student achievement.
  • Create a learning environment that encourages innovation creativity collaboration communication and critical thinking.
  • Utilize technology and digital tools to promote student learning creativity and collaboration.
  • Develop and facilitate engineering design challenges makerspace activities coding experiences robotics projects and other STEAM-related learning opportunities.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate STEAM concepts and support cross-curricular instruction.
  • Work directly with school administrators and staff in the development implementation and evaluation of STEAM initiatives and curriculum.
  • Organize develop and coordinate special STEAM events showcases competitions family engagement activities and community partnerships.
  • Attend professional development and training related to STEAM education emerging technologies and instructional best practices while staying abreast of current research and trends.
  • Assist in selecting maintaining and managing STEAM resources equipment materials and instructional technologies.
  • Serve as a resource for teachers by providing support and guidance regarding STEAM integration and instructional best practices.
  • Promote equitable access to STEAM learning opportunities for all students.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by district state and federal guidelines.
  • Adhere to all district policies procedures and Tennessee Department of Education requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
