Teacher Assistant - Bridges

As a Teacher Assistant with Special School Districts (SSD) Bridges program you will help students ages 12 through 21 build the academic social emotional and independent living skills that prepare them for success in school and beyond. Working alongside teachers and a collaborative educational team you will encourage growth celebrate progress and help create a structured supportive environment where students feel safe respected and empowered to learn. Through your daily interactions patience and encouragement you will help students develop confidence while reinforcing positive behaviors and fostering greater independence. Whether assisting with classroom activities preparing instructional materials collecting student data or providing hands-on support your work will make a meaningful difference in each students educational journey.

Salary

  • $22 to $38/hr. based on education and experience

Education Requirements

  • Thirty-six (36) hours of college credit required or completion of the Frontline Substitute Teacher Training as approved by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience working with children preferred

Contract Hours

  • 7:20 AM - 2:50 PM

Calendar

  • 10-month school year (August to June) exact dates dependent on assigned location(s)
