Teacher Aide (Colonial Acres Center)

About The Role
The Teachers Aide assists teachers in creating a safe nurturing and stimulating learning environment for
preschool-aged children (ages 25). Under the direction of the Center Director the aide supports daily classroom
activities helps implement age-appropriate curriculum and ensures each childs social emotional and
developmental needs are met.

What Youll Be Doing

• Assists in planning preparing and implementing the daily lessons and activities aligned with early childhood
  development goals.
• Assists in planning and preparing the learning environment and preparing needed materials and supplies.
• Supervises and engages children during classroom activities outdoor play meals and transitions.
• Supports children with diverse learning needs including those with disabilities or language barriers.
• Assists in the Desired Results process.
• Observes and documents child behavior and developmental progress as directed.
• Helps maintain a clean organized and safe classroom environment
• Assumes responsibilities for regular parent communication as directed by a supervisor.
• Assumes general responsibility for the health safety and well-being of all children in the agency.
• Assists with diapering toileting and personal care as needed.
• Supports volunteers as requested.
• Attends meetings as requested.
• Greets children parents staff and guests as needed.
• Follows all licensing regulations health and safety protocols.
• Assists other centers when requested.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• GED/HS Diploma
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
• Prior experience in working with young children is preferred.
• Immunization records that comply with Senate Bill 792 (immunity for measles pertussis and influenza)
• Required to be a mandated abuse reporter
• Must be able to work within Kidangos core hours and a flexible work schedule.
• 6 ECE units required

• Must pass a health screening and TB test
• Must pass background fingerprint clearance
• Valid Driver License
• Must be 18 years or older
• The ability to lift up to 30lbs may be needed during some job duties
• The employee will be required to use hands for computer work answering phone calls etc.
• Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential
  job functions
